About Karen...

I decided that I have more to say about what karen likes or wants than what I like or want. What does that say about me?
She just started wearing 4T clothes. I have a few dresses but not that many. I'm not sure how long she'll last in the 4T. It seems like she went through 3T pretty quick. She also doesn't mind hand-me-downs. Her style is simple and modern with girly touches (think: Target Circo brand or Old Navy)

She loves stickers and books. That keeps her quiet in church and at Grant's doctor appointments. She especially loves Maisy books. We only have two Maisy books (Maisy takes a bath and Maisy goes to the doctor). We've checked out a lot of others from the library and Karen can't get enough of them. She also likes Dora books but they are a little advanced for her. She actually likes all things Dora and Elmo(AKA Red Cookie). It's kind of crazy that she's so into Dora and Red Cookie because she watches very little TV. The TV that she does watch is Word World DVD's maybe once or twice a week. Speaking of that... maybe she's ready for more TV variety like a Maisy DVD?

Karen is also a pro at puzzles. She's doing the 24 piece ones now. She's super quick with those so maybe she's ready for more of a challenge. I've also been looking for some simple lacing cards or beads for her.

I'm thinking of getting her a doll house for Christmas but I haven't really committed myself to the idea because I think she might still be too young. There is some cute doll furniture at ikea that caught my eye. I appreciate any suggestions or comments.

Is Karen tall for her age? Katy's wearing mostly size 4 and 5 now, but it's for the length. size 5 is a bit wide for her and I don't think of her as anything extra lean--just average.

I'm impressed with the puzzles. I just picked up some 24 piece ones at a garage sale for Katy and I was surprised at how well she could do them. Well actually she's only done one. The others are hidden away for Christmas. She's liked puzzles for a long time, but mostly done the wood kind.

Does Karen do well to play on her own or does she ask to play with you a lot?

Karen is in the 75% for height and weight. The 4T pants are a bit big for her and a lot of the dresses are on the long side but the 3T are way too small. I think there's a big jump actual clothing size between 3 and 4T.

Karen plays well by herself. She always has. If I can get her into an activity then she can keep herself entertained for a long time.

Grant, on the other hand, plays less by himself. He likes to do what Karen does and then she gets mad so they need constant supervision when they're together. Grant will play with toys but he's more on the go, getting into different things. He doesn't sit with one thing like Karen does.

I was really surprised about those regular puzzles too. We had 12 piece wooden puzzle that she got really good at so I tried a cheap target 24 piece puzzle that had a cardboard border and she did it really easily. She loves them.
