I remember..... One year peaking under the sewing room door trying to figure out what Mom was making. I received a boy baby doll and clothes that year. I don't remember if I found out or if I was surprised. Needless to say, I have many snooping memories! I've tried hard in the past several years to not snoop because I like surprises. Maybe snooping all those years cured me!
I also remember the trips to Nauvoo and California for sure! Those are some of the few years I remember most! Thanks Mom and Dad for the great memories!

I remember you being a bit of a snoop too. One year I had your name and was decorating a notebook for you and you saw it in the kitchen. You asked if I had your name and I lied and said the notebook was for someone else. I think I was like 10 or something. Cedar Rapids house.
Elisa still asks about names.
Nauvoo and California for sure. Those are some of the very best. Remember all those crazy gift traditions from Uncle Bob and Aunt Connie's family? Wrapping old items, tags "from the dentist"? We still use them.
I like to remember how the family came out to visit me for my first Christmas in California. The part of it that is clearest in my mind is that Lauren only hung out with us for an hour or so, which didn't seem nearly long enough when I announced in March that we were engaged!
