In case anyone's worried, I'm taking measures to control how much time I spend on the game: I installed it on my external hard drive, so I can only play it at my desk at home, and I hid the box from myself, hoping to take advantage of "out of sight, out of mind". The fact that I need these tactics just shows how much I enjoy the gift!

Thanks Devin!
I've already had several hours of fun playing the Myst V game that you gave me. The reason I waited so long to write this thank-you post wasn't because I was distracted by playing, honest! I just wanted a cool picture to include with this post. It turns out that it's kind of hard to get a good picture of a person using a laptop, even with natural light from the window, and even with Lauren's fancy camera. I settled for this one:

Glad you liked it! I loved how you hide it. I do the same with treats! -Elisa
Did you get IV also? I thought I would go ahead and buy V and be safe if somebody read the post and had bought you IV. Unfortunately for me I play Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and I play it online. It has been quite the trial not to play online while I'm at work. I can say though, I have so far been able to resist!
About getting a good picture during game play... This is probably the most difficult way to get a picture of a laptop screen. Usually the refresh/ scan rate is the same during regular use of a computer. You just have to find the correct shutter speed combination that would match the refresh rate.
Well, during gameplay the computer acts differently and can change from 15 fps to 30 fps or more and it usually just depends on the scene in the game.
So, I'm very impressed with the great shot with Lauren's new XSi.
